Print Fast’s generous donation towards NEED Centre helps hundreds of vulnerable families in North and East Sri Lanka affected by COVID-19 in Batticaloa and Mullaitivu Districts.

Print Fast, one of Toronto’s most premiere online printing platforms for commercial printing products has generously donated towards NEED Centre’s Food Relief Program.  The Food Relief program was created in late March 2020 to address the dire need of the most vulnerable families affected by COVID-19.  Print Fast’s generous donation of 2,200 CAD will provide dry food assistance to 300 of the region’s most vulnerable families in Batticaloa and Mullaitivu district.

On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, a total 200 families from Savukkady (50) and Thannamunai (150) Eravur Pattu DS Division of Batticaloa District received the food relief packages from North and East Economic Development Centre.

On Thursday, April 30, 2020, a total 100 families from Karuvelankandal (50) and Puliyankulam (50) of Oddusuddan DS Division of Mullaitivu District received Dry food relief packages and three vegetables from Institute of Regional Development and Governance (IRDG) and North and East Economic Development Centre.

Guideline of prevention of pandemic of COVID -19 and its implication, farmers are unable to sell their harvest to a wider market at reasonable prices.  In order to motivate the farmers, the NEED Centre gave double the market price with consideration cost of production of their products and distributed the vegetables together with dry food relief packs.
